Becoming a Member

In April of 2008, Dr. Stillson stepped down as the sole Chair of the Task Force. Although CPA by-laws require an individual as officially designated “chair” for all committees and task forces (Kathy McCloskey), in actuality we function with five rotating Co-Chairs equal in organizational power/status: Christopher Bory, Trevor Floyd, Bekah Jackson, Kathy McCloskey, and Richard Stillson.

Chris Bory, B.S. chrisb@sexualityandgenderdiversity.com
Chris is currently a 3rd year doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford's Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology. His interests include individual psychotherapy, diversity issues, and working with veterans. Currently, Chris is working on his dissertation, which is analyzing the ten most cited clinical psychology journals and their representation of lesbian, gay, and bisexual participants.

Trevor Floyd, M.A. trevor@sexualityandgenderdiversity.com
Trevor is currently a 4th year doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford's Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology. His interests include diversity issues, and political/systemic issues in psychology. Trevor is in the process of working on his dissertation, which focuses on the clinical implications of the impact of the pornography industry and its overlap with popular culture on current definitions of sexuality, masculinity, and femininity.

Bekah Jackson, M.A. rjackson@hartford.edu
Bekah is currently a 4th year doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Hartford's Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology. In addition to being a co-chair on the Task Force for Sexuality and Gender Diversity, she is also a member of the APAGS Committee for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concerns (CLGBTC). Her interests include multicultural/diversity issues, program development and outreach, psychological and neuropsychological assessment, and therapeutic work with individuals with SPMI. Bekah recently completed and defended her dissertation project which involved the development of a sexuality and gender diversity training program for mental health professionals.
